Would someone in the IT field mind answering this list of interview questions?

Posted on February 3rd, 2012 in order management software by

For my high school technology class, I’m supposed to interview someone who works in the IT field. Unfortunately, I don’t know anyone that fulfills the requirements of the assignment. Here is the list of questions:

1. Personal information (employee name, employer name, workplace address, work telephone number, job title, number of years on current job, years of computer experience).

2. What kind of computer system(s) do you use (hardware, software, printers, other related equipment)?

3. What kind of training have you received in order to use the computer system effectively? Do you find the IT Technical Staff in your firm to be helpful and easy to work with?

4. What business processes (operational) are supported by the IT systems in your workplace?

5. How does management use the IT system to support their activities?

6. Is your system part of a network? If so, who is the network administrator? How often do you interact with the administrator? What kinds of issues do you discuss with the administrator?

7. Are your computer systems connected to your customers, suppliers or partners? If so, describe how the system is used to connect to these entities.

8. As your career has progressed, what changes in IT have you noticed and how have these changes in IT contributed to your performance?

9. Has using the computer system at work influenced your life outside of work? If so, in what way?

10. What advice would you give to a new employee about the IT supported workplace?

*Apparently we’re supposed to find someone with 10 years work experience. I guess if it’s close to 10 it won’t matter.
**If someone kindly does answer these questions, would you mind if I e-mailed 5 follow-up questions? We need to come up with 5 questions of our own, and I don’t know what to ask without prior information.

I know this might take some time, but if anyone is willing to answer these questions I would be eternally grateful!!!

Can anyone please tell me if this email is safe?

The email says:

“Due to suspicious activity, the Battle.net account (email address) has been locked. To restore access to this account, please follow these steps:

Step 1: Secure Your Computer

In the event that your computer has been infected with malicious software such as a keylogger or trojan, simply changing your password may not deter future attacks without first ensuring that your computer is free from these programs. Please visit our Account Security website to learn how to secure your computer from unauthorized access.

Step 2: Secure Your E-mail Account

After you have secured your computer, please create a new password for your e-mail account since it may also be compromised. Be sure to check your e-mail filters and rules and look for any e-mail forwarding rules that you did not create. For more information on securing your e-mail account, visit the Support page.

Step 3: Check the Password

You must check your password in order to resume using this Battle.net account. Please click this link to choose a new password:

https://us.battle.net/account/support/pa…

*Note that if this link no longer grants access to Battle.net account management or this link has been compromised, you should go to your account management website to check your account status as soon as possible at http://support.battle.accountsecurity.us…

Sincerely,
The Battle.net Account Team
Online Privacy Policy”

It is from “WoWAccountEU@review.blizzard.com”, which is not the official Blizzard email address, yet when I click on the link to reset my password, no “Web Forgery Detected!” page comes up, and the start of the url is in blue, which states the site is secure.

I really don’t know if this is a true email or not. Are these hackers just using smarter tactics, or is this an official email?

Note: Another thing that confused me was that it’s the US BattleNet; my WoW account is European. Though I have sent an email to US Battlenet before (By mistake :P )

/In before TL;DR :P

Hope you can help! <3

If i have one webserver and 2 web developers that work for me from distance?

Posted on January 20th, 2012 in order management software by

what should i supply them in order to make their work easier…and when i say easier i mean to cooperate well and to make good result?…

one good answer that helped me was this one from H4×0rchix0r

I think you should have:

1) a project management application that all three of you can access and update
2) a test environment – for that, I would recommend virtualization so that it doesn’t interfere with your production environment

for 1 and 2 i still have questions

1)project manager has to do with content management?and if not then what is the difference?

2)what is the role of test enviroment?

and i also want to state that i want to be the person who guides the process and organise developers that make dynamic sites, flash, actionscript, animations .is this software appropriate and if yes how?please suggest me any possible way for a better co operation for a job of web development from distance….

thank you

How do you Feel about Israel spying on the US?

Posted on January 13th, 2012 in order management software by

Since the late 1990s, federal agents have reported systemic communications security breaches at the Department of Justice, FBI, DEA, the State Department, and the White House. Several of the alleged breaches, these agents say, can be traced to two hi-tech communications companies, Verint Inc. (formerly Comverse Infosys), and Amdocs Ltd., that respectively provide major wiretap and phone billing/record-keeping software contracts for the U.S. government. Together, Verint and Amdocs form part of the backbone of the government’s domestic intelligence surveillance technology. Both companies are based in Israel – having arisen to prominence from that country’s cornering of the information technology market – and are heavily funded by the Israeli government, with connections to the Israeli military and Israeli intelligence (both companies have a long history of board memberships dominated by current and former Israeli military and intelligence officers). Verint is considered the world leader in “electronic interception” and hence an ideal private sector candidate for wiretap outsourcing. Amdocs is the world’s largest billing service for telecommunications, with some $2.8 billion in revenues in 2007, offices worldwide, and clients that include the top 25 phone companies in the United States that together handle 90 percent of all call traffic among U.S. residents. The companies’ operations, sources suggest, have been infiltrated by freelance spies exploiting encrypted trapdoors in Verint/Amdocs technology and gathering data on Americans for transfer to Israeli intelligence and other willing customers (particularly organized crime). “The fact of the vulnerability of our telecom backbone is indisputable,” says a high level U.S. intelligence officer who has monitored the fears among federal agents. “How it came to pass, why nothing has been done, who has done what – these are the incendiary questions.” If the allegations are true, the electronic communications gathered up by the NSA and other U.S. intelligence agencies might be falling into the hands of a foreign government. Reviewing the available evidence, Robert David Steele, a former CIA case officer and today one of the foremost international proponents for “public intelligence in the public interest,” tells me that “Israeli penetration of the entire US telecommunications system means that NSA’s warrantless wiretapping actually means Israeli warrantless wiretapping.”

As early as 1999, the National Security Agency issued a warning that records of U.S. government telephone calls were ending up in foreign hands – Israel’s, in particular. In 2002, assistant U.S. Attorney General Robert F. Diegelman issued an eyes only memo on the matter to the chief information technology (IT) officers at the Department of Justice. IT officers oversee everything from the kind of cell phones agents carry to the wiretap equipment they use in the field; their defining purpose is secure communications. Diegelman’s memo was a reiteration, with overtones of reprimand, of a new IT policy instituted a year earlier, in July 2001, in an internal Justice order titled “2640.2D Information Technology Security.” Order 2640.2D stated that “Foreign Nationals shall not be authorized to access or assist in the development, operation, management or maintenance of Department IT systems.” This might not seem much to blink at in the post-9/11 intel and security overhaul. Yet 2640.2D was issued a full two months before the Sept. 11 attacks. What group or groups of foreign nationals had close access to IT systems at the Department of Justice? Israelis, according to officials in law enforcement. One former Justice Department computer crimes prosecutor tells me, speaking on background, “I’ve heard that the Israelis can listen in to our calls.”

Retired CIA counterterrorism and counterintelligence officer Philip Giraldi says this is par for the course in the history of Israeli penetrations in the U.S. He notes that Israel always features prominently in the annual FBI report called “Foreign Economic Collection and Industrial Espionage” – Israel is second only to China in stealing U.S. business secrets. The 2005 FBI report states, for example, “Israel has an active program to gather proprietary information within the United States. These collection activities are primarily directed at obtaining information on military systems and advanced computing applications that can be used in Israel’s sizable armaments industry.” A key Israeli method, warns the FBI report, is computer intrusion.

I am refering to the patriot act actually the NSA is who is spying and the companies they use are Israeli so The Israeli’s are spying on america FOR the U.S government how stupid is that!

Whats happen to my WoW account?

Posted on December 16th, 2011 in order management software by

I got my account hacked a couple days ago i got it back and all my gear back to but not 12hours later i get this message

Greetings {Name},

We have determined that the World of Warcraft account {Account name} has been accessed by someone not authorized to do so by the World of Warcraft Terms of Use (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/legal/termsofuse.html).

To protect your privacy and security, we have temporarily disabled this account. Any recurring subscriptions have been suspended to prevent further monetary charges. In order to regain access to the account, you must complete the steps below to secure the account and verify your identity.

Please note that account sharing is a violation of the World of Warcraft Terms of Use, which is in place to help players keep the accounts they play on secure. As such, we are unable to assist any player in regaining access to an account not created in his or her own name.

Please keep this email for your reference until the account recovery process has been completed.

STEP 1: SECURE THE ACCOUNT, YOUR COMPUTER AND YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS

We recommend you read over and apply the following tips to protect yourself and the account in the future. Account compromises can occur when a player shares login information with an unauthorized third party or plays on a computer that has a virus, Trojan, or key-logger.

- Keep your login information confidential. Account access can only be shared with one minor of whom you are the parent or guardian. Sharing access with anyone else is a violation of the game’s Terms of Use. You are also responsible for every use of an account on which you are listed as the registered player, whether the use was authorized or not.
- Use up-to-date firewall, antivirus, and anti-spyware software to scan your system regularly for viruses, Trojans, and key-loggers.
- Keep your operating system and other software up-to-date and be careful when downloading new software.
- Be wary of “spoof” and scam websites and e-mails that pose as Blizzard Entertainment and request account or personal information. As a reminder, Blizzard Entertainment representatives will *never* ask you for your password.
- Use separate, unique passwords for your email, World of Warcraft, and any other online accounts.
- Change your passwords regularly and keep World of Warcraft account information updated using the Account Management page at http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/account/.

Is linux a horrible development platform?

Posted on December 9th, 2011 in order management software by

A person I had a talk to in some forums told me that linux sucks as a development platform, I asked why and these were some reasons, I am going to order them here:

1. very fast kernel development for decent drivers to support all properly
2. too many desktop environments for u to support and make sure your apps integrate perfectly in as well
3. too many window managers to support as well
4. different package formats and package management systems
5. each different distro uses its own kernel, xorg version and set of libraries
6. things change too rapidly for example the APIs and stuff without informing developers
7. very difficult to maintain software for every new release and make sure it works properly with each distro
8. most of the time linux users don’t want to pay for software
9. some of them will create an open source clone or something and use that instead
10. linux users have this idea that people who expect payment to create and maintain software r evil and they will only use open source stuff
11. since its open source than many programs that may require stuff like DRM can’t be allowed

they say that the reason why people don’t really bother developing for linux is not that its a tiny market but its too much of a pain and thats the reason people choose to develop for OS X cause they have a better development platform with only 2 api layers that is carbon and cocoa.
Thanks for the reply but don’t u think that gaming isn’t the only problem, may be u r forgetting how so many linux users only want free open source software.

If kernel development slows down linux may lack in driver support as well as it being necessary for good software to integrate and work well with every desktop and window manager cause if u pay for it then u expect it to work as well as on other platforms.
Oh yeah I am also forgetting linux distro apart from maybe kde 4 finally have really no standard interface and u gnome user won’t like an app written in qt4 to not integrate with their gnome desktop and mac4lin theme maybe.
OS X uses opengl as well and there r many games for it, and why not linux if its that good?

I Have a Plan – Is it any good?

Steal the neighbours catering diploma certificate in order to get a job in the food industry, water down the squash in the factory cafe until the employees complain, then form a revolution against the director of the factory which results in you being the CEO, then spend all of the companies money on employing 7 foot black men to gaurd you – while secretly, you are training them to be a personal army – then say something disparaging towards Steve Jobs…about the new iPod Shuffle or something, causing him to get really angry and swear on live TV, then he shouts and the censor management officer, who shouts and the man who presses the censoring ‘beep’ button, who takes his anger out at a random software engineer, which in turn, he takes his anger out on the designs for the iPhone 5, which – when released – has a picture of the man who presses the ‘beep’ button naked in bed with a woman who is not his wife every time you call someone, which causes outrage and apple is fined billions by someone somewhere with powerful lawyers, and – obviously – gets the random software engineer fired, then suddenly, an angry ‘beep’ button presser comes from nowhere and murders the software engineer, a court case will ensue, where Steve Jobs and the rest of the chairmen have to go to, while they’re out, your blackman army will destroy the apple HQ, your army will be sent to prison, but you escape just in time, then you get elected president?
